How can community groups, residents and entrepreneurs living in this rural region of Scotland affect the changes needed for our communities achieve net zero? That was the question raised by the South Kintyre Youth Forum which spurred this event.
This was a short session to learn from leading experts in the field, as they helped us navigate the challenges of recylcing due to remote living; and to develop real actions that overcome those challenges so we can improved waste streams in Argyll and Bute.
Zero Waste Scotland and Grab Trust were on hand to discuss how we can reduce our waste to achieve Net Zero.
Miriam Adcock from Zero Waste Scotland shared her knowledge on how we can adopt small changes for big impacts via Zoom link.
Kerry from Grab Trust was on hand to talk to us about what is being done at the local level to move to a more circular waste economy.
Together we can learn how to adapt sustainable waste management skills in order to contribute to the development of a circular economy with Argyll and Bute, thus reducing our carbon emissions as part of the net-zero roadmap.
This event followed the Cambeltown Community Action Network meeting in the Campbeltown Town Hall.
