ELCAN Launch Success!

Our launch at the Fraser Centre on 5 October was very well received according to the formal and informal feedback and the vibrancy of the event itself. Terms such as ‘amazing’ and a ‘huge success’ have been used to describe it.

Many thanks are therefore due to all the presenters from various community groups and other organisations across East Lothian. However, central to the event’s success was the active involvement of all those others who attended and contributed so positively to the evening’s discussions. Nearly 80 people registered to attend on a wet and windy Tranent evening.

ELCAN now has a secure footing in East Lothian.

Lively breakout sessions focused on what the main functions of an East Lothian Climate Action Hub should be. An application for Scottish Government financial support will be submitted early in 2023.

Dr Shona McIntosh, Chair of East Lothian Council’s Sustainability & Climate Change Forum, brought the launch event to an end with some well-chosen closing remarks.
