Purpose
To collaborate between local community groups, sharing knowledge and resources to empower each other for climate action
Aims

- To support and develop community led climate action in the Glasgow area
- To support communities to contribute to local, regional and National decision making
- To highlight the links between climate change and other issues and inequalities, using it as a unifying issue

Geographical area
Currently the network is for groups who are part of the Glasgow area, work in this area and are affected by Glasgow based decisions.
Outreach is being done with groups in East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, West Dunbartonshire and East Dunbartonshire to find out if the network could include these areas or what other options suit the areas. If it does, the name may change to reflect this. If you are a group from one of these areas, please get in touch.
Network funding
The network’s initial development is currently being supported by a Scottish Communities Climate Action Network (SCCAN) staff member, using Scottish Government funding.
The network is looking into further resourcing, there is an opportunity to apply for Scottish Government Climate Action Hub funding to resource the network. The scope of the hub resourcing is being shaped by the network. The Network Resources Working Group will work on this plan and all network members will be able to input on plans. Input from the development phase so far will be considered when planning.
The Hub aim is to support, inspire, and build capacity and connections by resourcing the network and it’s members. This could include:
