A community owned woodland

Easter Breich Wood Community Group was set up in 2020 when the woodland was put up for sale. Thanks to the Scottish Land Fund, we were able to buy the wood and now manage it on behalf of the community. We are a registered Scottish Charity (SCO51201), and are run by a small group of volunteers.

What we do

A community wood

We manage the woodland on behalf of the communities of Seafield, West Calder and Polbeth

Maintain access

We maintain the woodland, footpaths and bridleways, to ensure open access to all.

Monitor biodiversity

We monitor the biodiversity in the woodland and water quality in the rivers
