List of climate, environment and community funding available in November 2025.

Funding available from Scottish Climate Action Hubs

Fife Climate Hub Seed And Development Fund: Funds of up to £2500 are available to any Fife community group who would like to start a climate project, take forward existing plans or build their capacity to deliver climate action. Community groups must be a member of FCCAN to be eligible to apply. Deadline: Sunday 23rd November. 

NESCAN Hub LEAF Fund: Grants of up to £3,000 are available to support diverse community led projects that promote environmental sustainability, biodiversity and wellbeing. Any local non profit community-led organisation with an annual income under £200,000 can apply. Deadline: Sunday 30th November.

NESCAN Hub Seed Fund: Grants of up to £500 are available to support community climate action and biodiversity projects within Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. Any local non profit community-led organisation with an annual income under £50,000 can apply. Deadline: Monday 1st December.

Highlands And Islands Community Climate Action Fund: Highlands And Islands Climate Hub are offering their members small grants of up to £1,000 to help fund new community organisations or launch a climate action project. Applications are accepted at any time.

East Lothian Climate Hub Climate and Nature Action Grants: Grants of up to £10,000 are available to East Lothian community groups to help them deliver action for climate and nature. Community groups must be a member of ELCAN to be eligible to apply. Applications are accepted at any time.


General Funding

Daysix Make It Happen Fund: Daysix are offering their creative and digital services – up to the value of £10,000 – to individuals, businesses and charities who are working on ideas with real potential for positive impact. Deadline: Friday 14th November.

FCC Scottish Action Fund: Offers grants of between £2,000 and £40,000 to not-for-profit organisations for community projects eligible under the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund. Some examples of projects they fund cover areas such as community recycling, public amenities and parks and biodiversity. Deadline: Wednesday 19th November.

SSEN Transmission Regional Fund: Funding of up to £500,000 is available to Scottish communities located within the SSEN Transmission network area. The funding aims to support communities working on projects that focus on people, place or fuel poverty. Deadline: Wednesday 19th November.

Naturesave Trust: The Naturesave Trust is looking for grant applications from charities, community groups and organisations who are working on biodiversity initiatives that connect communities to nature. Deadline: Thursday 27th November.

‘Healthy Planet, Healthy people’ Catalyst Award: Funding is available to support new and existing research projects that promote the health of individuals through fostering healthy environments and communities, and enabling access to healthy food. Community-based individuals or organisations would receive an award amount of £5,000 to conduct a research project for up to 12 months. Deadline: Thursday 4th December.

Sustrans – Love Your Network Grant: This programme supports communities living near the National Cycle Network to maintain and improve spaces along local paths and support wildlife conservation. Funding will take the form of equipment and training bundles of up to £1,000 in value. Deadline: 26th February 2026.

Borders Tree Grant Scheme: Grants of up to £1,000 are available to support the planting of individual or small clumps of trees in the Scottish Borders countryside. Applications are open to organisations and individuals in the Scottish Borders local authority area. Planting projects must be less than 0.25ha in size. Deadline: Spring 2026.


Ongoing funds/rolling deadlines

John Ellerman Foundation: Grants of up to £60,000 a year are available to support charitable organisations that are committed to ensuring the rights of people, society and the natural world. Applications are accepted at any time. 

Action Earth Volunteering Matters grants: Grants of £50 to £250 to support urban communities across Scotland in responding to the nature and climate crises. They’re looking to fund volunteer-led projects that promote participation in outdoor nature activities. Volunteers working in an urban or built-up area of Scotland are eligible to apply. Applications are accepted at any time.

Scottish Forestry Community Fund: Grants of up to £1,000 or over £1,000 are available to support community groups and organisations that encourage people to use woods more. Applications are accepted at any time. 

Highlands and Islands Enterprise Green Grant Fund: Grants of up to £250,000 are available to support businesses and social enterprises across the Highlands and Islands to transition to net zero. Open to expressions of interest.

Inverclyde Windfarm Fund: Grants of up to £2,000 are available for community groups and voluntary organisations in Inverclyde to progress projects within their communities. Applications are accepted at any time.

Cycling UK: Cycle Access Fund: Offers grants through five funding strands to support those least likely to have access to a bike. The fund aims to remove barriers to cycling, make communities safer and reduce short car journeys. Organisations with a registered address in SPT, Sestran, ZetTrans or Nestrans regions can apply. Applications are accepted at any time.

The National Lottery Community Fund – Community Action: Offers grants from £20,001 to £250,000 for community projects lasting up to 5 years. They’re looking to fund projects that will improve people’s access and connection to nature and/or support people’s health and wellbeing. Applications are accepted at any time.

National Lottery Awards For All Scotland: Offers funding from £300 to £20,000 to support projects that bring people together and help communities across Scotland thrive. Funding can be used to start a new activity or continue an existing one. Applications are accepted at any time.

South Lanarkshire Renewable Energy Fund – Micro Grants: Offers micro grants of up to £500 to support local community projects in the area. Applications are accepted at any time. 

Clackmannanshire and Stirling Environment Trust: Offers grants of up to £15,000 to enable community and not-for-profit groups to deliver projects that improve the environment or benefit the local community and general public. Applications are accepted at any time. 

East Ayrshire Council – Renewable Energy Fund (REF): Offers funding to support local projects that focus on the community or the environment. Applications are accepted at any time. 

Nature Restoration Fund – North Ayrshire: Funding is available to support nature restoration projects in North Ayrshire. It is open to community groups, voluntary organisations and partners. Applications are accepted at any time.
