Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival Grant: Offers small grants of £250 to community groups and organisations in Lanarkshire to enable them to host events at the Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival. Deadline: 31st May 2026.
Highlands and Islands Climate Action Fund: Small funding pot of £1,000 is available to community groups in the Highlands and Islands. The fund’s purpose is to help kickstart a climate action project in your community or carry out community engagement around climate change. Deadline: 31st May 2026.
Moray CAN Small Grants Fund: Offers small grants of up to £200 to individuals and £2,000 for community groups and organisations to support local climate action projects across Moray. Deadline: 15th June 2026.
General Funding
Youth Ocean Action Fund Project Grant: Offers grants between £100 and £500 to support projects, campaigns and other activities that help Scottish young people aged 16-25 build their advocacy skills to tackle marine issues. Deadline: 4th May 2026.
SP Energy Networks Community Benefit Fund: Offers grants between £100-£10,000 to projects that improve community spaces and buildings or enhance green spaces and access to nature. Deadline: 8th May 2026.
Just Transition Fund for the North East and Moray: Offers funding of up to £17 million to support projects in the North East and Moray which contribute towards the region’s transition to Net Zero. It will be split across three funding streams which include commercial and public sector projects, community and social enterprise projects and the supply chain pathway and challenge fund. Various deadlines: 11th and 22nd May 2026.
SSEN Powering Communities To Net Zero Fund: Provides around £3 million of funding annually to help communities in central southern England and the north of Scotland become more resilient to climate change and adopt low carbon technologies. Deadline: 21st May 2026.
Highlands and Islands Environment Foundation: Offers funding from £5,000 to £20,000 to community groups working in the Highlands and Islands to support projects that aim to protect and restore nature in the area. Deadline: 13th May 2026.
Coast-R Small Grants Fund: Offers grants of between £10,000 and £25,000 to support small-scale, place-based projects that contribute to coastal community resilience. Deadline: 15th May 2026.
Hydro Community Fund: Offers funding of between £10,000 and £100,000 to support community projects that encourage community growth and improvement and protect the natural environment of the local area. This is open to residents in community council areas that host SSE’s hydro assets. Deadline: 25th June 2026.
The Screwfix Foundation: Grants of up to £5,000 for projects that improve, repair or maintain buildings and facilities used by people in need. Funding is available for practical building works such as heating upgrades, energy-efficient lighting, kitchen and bathroom installations, safety improvements and sensory spaces. Deadline: 30th June 2026.
Stafford Trust: Offers grants of between £500 and £5,000 to support UK charities with a variety of projects such as animal welfare, sea rescue and community projects. Deadline: 30th June 2026.
Green Community Grants Programme: Offers one year flexible funding to UK non profit organisations with an annual income between £10,000 and £1 million. To be eligible for funding, your organisation must have been operating for a minimum of 12 months and your aims and objectives are environmental or nature based. Deadline: 15th July 2026.
CARES Community Buildings Fund: Grants of up to £80,000 are available to help community organisations reduce their building’s energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. They fund the installation of renewable technologies and energy efficiency measures. Deadline: end of October 2026.

Climate Action Fund – Food Systems: The National Lottery Community Fund is inviting applications to its new Climate Action Fund – Food Systems programme. Partnerships between UK non profit organisations can apply for grants of between £2.5 million and £7 million for ambitious projects that strengthen food systems, tackle food insecurity and work with nature. Projects will run between five and seven years. Applications are accepted at any time.
The National Lottery Community Fund – Community Action: Offers grants from £20,001 to £250,000 for community projects lasting up to 5 years. They’re looking to fund projects that will improve people’s access and connection to nature and/or support people’s health and wellbeing. Applications are accepted at any time.
National Lottery Awards For All Scotland: Offers funding from £300 to £20,000 to support projects that bring people together and help communities across Scotland thrive. Funding can be used to start a new activity or continue an existing one. Applications are accepted at any time.
The Pebble Trust: Offers grants of up to £10,000 to support projects that meet their charitable objectives of community development, environmental protection and education and science. They also must contribute to reducing our dependency on fossil fuels and finite resources. Applications are accepted at any time.
Zero Waste Scotland – Circular Economy Accelerator Grants: Offering grants of up to £75,000 to Scottish organisations to support projects that advance circular economy practices. Applications are accepted at any time.
Martin Wills Wildlife Trust Maintenance Grants: Typically offers grants between £1,000 and £2,000 to UK charities to support the conservation and maintenance of the natural environment for the benefit of the public. Particularly in rural areas. Applications are accepted at any time.
Sea-Changers Scottish Learning Fund: Provides small grants of up to £750 to enable early-stage and/or small community groups in Scotland that focus on marine conservation to learn, share knowledge, network and develop skills with other groups. Applications are accepted at any time.
Community Energy Generation Growth Fund: Local Energy Scotland has funding available to help community groups set up renewable energy projects. Ongoing deadline.
Aviva Communities Fund: Organisations can receive up to £25,000 in match funding. The fund supports projects that focus on climate action or financial wellbeing. Applications are accepted at any time.
SME Loan Scheme: Loans of up to 100k are available to eligible Scottish businesses, non profit organisations and charities. The money can be used to fund renewable energy and technology upgrades in your business. You can receive a cashback grant of up to £30,000 once your project is completed and evidence is provided. Applications are accepted at any time.
