List of climate, environment and community funding available in June 2026.

Funding available from Climate Action Hubs

Midlothian Climate Hub Community Action Fund: Offers grants of up to £1,500 to Midlothian community groups to support new and existing projects to help them launch, grow or become more resilient. Deadline: 8th June 2026.

ECCAN Greenlight fund: Offers grants starting from £250 and up to £20,000 to fund climate action projects from ECCAN members. This year, ECCAN are particularly keen to fund youth-led projects, projects that widen access and participation and climate adaptation initiatives. Major project grant deadline: 15th June 2026. Micro grant deadline: ongoing until all funds have been awarded.

Moray CAN Small Grants Fund: Offers small grants of up to £200 to individuals and £2,000 for community groups and organisations to support local climate action projects across Moray. Deadline: 15th June 2026. 

East Lothian Climate Hub Climate and Nature Action Grants: Grants of up to £10,000 are available to East Lothian community groups to help them deliver action for climate and nature. Community groups must be a member of ELCAN to be eligible to apply. Applications are accepted at any time.

Highlands and Islands Breaking Barriers Fund: Offers funding of up to £1,000 to community organisations in Shetland, Orkney and the Highlands who have hit an unexpected financial challenge with their climate project and need money to continue. Applications for 2026/27 are currently open.

Dundee Changemakers Hub People’s Emergency Briefing Fund: Offers 10 funding grants of £100 to support community groups across Dundee to host a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing. Funding will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.


General Funding

Future Routes Fund: This fund supports nature projects run by young people aged 11-26. It aims to help young people connect with nature and take positive action for the climate. An individual can apply for £500 to £2,000 and a team (2+) can apply for £1,000 to £5,000. Deadline: 19th June 2026.

Hydro Community Fund: Offers funding of between £10,000 and £100,000 to support community projects that encourage community growth and improvement and protect the natural environment of the local area. This is open to residents in community council areas that host SSE’s hydro assets. Deadline: 25th June 2026. 

The Screwfix Foundation: Grants of up to £5,000 for projects that improve, repair or maintain buildings and facilities used by people in need. Funding is available for practical building works such as heating upgrades, energy-efficient lighting, kitchen and bathroom installations, safety improvements and sensory spaces. Deadline: 30th June 2026.

Stafford Trust: Offers grants of between £500 and £5,000 to support UK charities with a variety of projects such as animal welfare, sea rescue and community projects. Deadline: 30th June 2026.

Community Food and Growing Grant: Offers grants of up to £2,000 to community food and growing groups in Fife to help them develop projects and to support new and existing growing projects. Deadline: 30th June 2026.

Green Community Grants Programme: Offers one year flexible funding to UK non profit organisations with an annual income between £10,000 and £1 million. To be eligible for funding, your organisation must have been operating for a minimum of 12 months and your aims and objectives are environmental or nature based. Deadline: 15th July 2026.

Social Innovation Challenge: Offers funding support for innovative social enterprise ideas that tackle Scotland’s biggest social and environmental challenges. The winner will receive a grant of £30,000 and tailored support. Two finalists will receive £10,000 each. Deadline: 20th July 2026.

Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund: Funding of up to £50,000 is available to support local grassroots green projects from third sector organisations and community groups in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray. Deadline: 31st August 2026.

The Scottish Government’s Emergency Heating Oil Fund: Provides £300 of funding support to households that use heating oil to allow them to continue to heat their home. Deadline: 30th September 2026.


Ongoing funds/rolling deadlines

Climate Action Fund – Food Systems: The National Lottery Community Fund is inviting applications to its new Climate Action Fund – Food Systems programme. Partnerships between UK non profit organisations can apply for grants of between £2.5 million and £7 million for ambitious projects that strengthen food systems, tackle food insecurity and work with nature. Projects will run between five and seven years. Applications are accepted at any time.

The National Lottery Community Fund – Community Action: Offers grants from £20,001 to £250,000 for community projects lasting up to 5 years. They’re looking to fund projects that will improve people’s access and connection to nature and/or support people’s health and wellbeing. Applications are accepted at any time. 

National Lottery Awards For All Scotland: Offers funding from £300 to £20,000 to support projects that bring people together and help communities across Scotland thrive. Funding can be used to start a new activity or continue an existing one. Applications are accepted at any time.

The Pebble Trust: Offers grants of up to £10,000 to support projects that meet their charitable objectives of community development, environmental protection and education and science. They also must contribute to reducing our dependency on fossil fuels and finite resources. Applications are accepted at any time.

Martin Wills Wildlife Trust Maintenance Grants: Typically offers grants between £1,000 and £2,000 to UK charities to support the conservation and maintenance of the natural environment for the benefit of the public. Particularly in rural areas. Applications are accepted at any time.

Sea-Changers Scottish Learning Fund: Provides small grants of up to £750 to enable early-stage and/or small community groups in Scotland that focus on marine conservation to learn, share knowledge, network and develop skills with other groups. Applications are accepted at any time.

Community Energy Generation Growth Fund: Local Energy Scotland has funding available to help community groups set up renewable energy projects. Ongoing deadline.

Aviva Communities Fund: Organisations can receive up to £25,000 in match funding. The fund supports projects that focus on climate action or financial wellbeing. Applications are accepted at any time.

SME Loan Scheme: Loans of up to 100k are available to eligible Scottish businesses, non profit organisations and charities. The money can be used to fund renewable energy and technology upgrades in your business. You can receive a cashback grant of up to £30,000 once your project is completed and evidence is provided. Applications are accepted at any time.

Cellnex Community Fund: Offers grants of up to £5,000 to UK non-profit organisations to support projects that strengthen communities and improve the environment. Applications are accepted at any time.
