Funding available from Scottish Climate Action Hubs
NESCAN Hub LEAF Fund: Grants of up to £3,000 are available to support diverse community led projects that promote environmental sustainability, biodiversity and wellbeing. Any local non profit community-led organisation with an annual income under £200,000 can apply. Deadline: Monday 8th September.

Climate Ready Places Grant from Lanarkshire Climate Action Hub: Grants of up to £2,000 to enable Lanarkshire community groups to host a workshop about climate adaptation. Applications are accepted at any time.
Climate Change in Your Community Grant from Lanarkshire Climate Action Hub: Grants of up to £3,000 to help community groups and organisations who haven’t been involved in climate action to host community events about climate change. Applications are accepted at any time.

General Funding
SPT Community Path Fund: Funding of up to £100,000 is available to help deliver projects that improve local walking and wheeling routes in Strathclyde. Any community organisation with a constitution and bank account based within the SPT region can apply. Deadline: Monday 8th September.
Community Energy Generation Growth Fund: Local Energy Scotland has funding available to help community groups set up renewable energy projects. Feasibility Stage: grants of up to £20,000. Development Stage: grants of up to £250,000. Construction Stage: grants of up to 80% of construction costs up to a maximum of £250,000. Or up to 25% of construction costs with no maximum cap. Deadline: Monday 8th September.
Ofgem Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme (Energy Redress Scheme): Charities and community energy groups across England, Scotland and Wales can now apply for a grant through one of six funding streams, with a total of £40 million available:
- The Main Fund, containing £25 million – aimed at projects seeking grants between £50,000 and £2 million that will support households in vulnerable situations.
- The Impact Fund, containing £2 million – aimed at projects monitoring the impact to households, of energy advice and other interventions. Applicants can apply for grants between £20,000 and £499,999.
- The Small Project Fund, containing £1 million – aimed at projects seeking grants between £20,000 and £49,999 that will support households in vulnerable situations.
- The Innovation Fund, containing £6 million – aimed at projects that will develop innovative products or services to benefit households. Applicants can apply for grants between £20,000 and £1 million.
- The Carbon Emissions Reduction Fund, containing £4 million – aimed at projects that will reduce UK carbon emissions and empower households to reduce their carbon footprint. Applicants can apply for grants between £20,000 and £1 million.
- The Just Transition Fund, containing £2 million – aimed at projects that will develop community renewable energy which will benefit energy consumers in vulnerable situations. Applicants can apply for grants between £20,000 and £250,000.

St Andrews Prize for the Environment: a significant global initiative that identifies and champions innovative and inspiring responses to environmental challenges, including the climate crisis. The winner will receive prize money of $95,000 (US dollars) and the runners-up will receive $20,000 (US dollars). Deadline: 15th September 2025.
Creative Communities Scotland Fund: Grants of up to £35,000 are available to support Scottish community organisations to develop and deliver creative projects. Deadline: Thursday 18th September.
Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund: Funding of up to £50,000 is available to support local grassroots green projects from third sector organisations and community groups in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray. Deadline: Monday 29th September.
AI For All Programme: Offers one-off grants of up to £2,500 and four hours of specialised mentorship with respected AI leaders to UK charities. To be eligible, UK charities must have a turnover of between £150,000 and £1.15 million and one to ten employees. Deadline: Tuesday 30th September.
Sea Changers Main Grants fund: One-off grants are available for projects that encourage people to take action for marine conservation. Sea Changers can provide funding of up to £2,500 for this work. It’s open to UK-based charities and organisations that carry out marine conversation related activities. Deadline: Tuesday 30th September.
DWF Foundation: Offers grants of up to £5,000 to support projects covering areas such as homelessness, health and wellbeing, employability, environment and sustainability and education. Only registered charities may apply. Deadline: Tuesday 30th September.
DPO Centre – Charity and Community Fund: Grants of up to £10,000 are available to help UK organisations access data protection consultancy advice and services. Deadline: Wednesday 1st October.
CARES Community Buildings Fund: Grants of up to £80,000 are available to help community organisations reduce their building’s energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. They fund the installation of renewable technologies and energy efficiency measures. Deadline: end of October 2025.
Warburtons Community Grants: up to £400 to support charitable organisations working to improve Health, Place, or Skills for families in their local community. Deadline: 4th November 2025.
Nature Restoration Fund – North Ayrshire: Funding is available to support nature restoration projects in North Ayrshire. It is open to community groups, voluntary organisations and partners. Deadline: 31st March 2026.
Ongoing funds/rolling deadlines
Darroch Charitable Trust: Offers grants of up to £3,000 to organisations based in Scotland, with a preference for the West of Scotland. The Trust supports a broad range of charitable causes and past grants have supported food banks, community halls and animal welfare groups. Applications can be submitted at any time. Plug-in Vehicle Grant (PIVG) Scheme: The UK Government Plug-in Vehicle Grant is available for another year. This offers financial assistance for the purchase of vans, taxis and wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Applications are open to eligible UK based businesses and individuals seeking to switch to electric transport. Applications are accepted at any time.
John Ellerman Foundation: Grants of up to £60,000 a year are available to support charitable organisations that are committed to ensuring the rights of people, society and the natural world. Applications are accepted at any time.
Action Earth Volunteering Matters grants: Grants of £50 to £250 to support urban communities across Scotland in responding to the nature and climate crises. They’re looking to fund volunteer-led projects that promote participation in outdoor nature activities. Volunteers working in an urban or built-up area of Scotland are eligible to apply. Applications are accepted at any time.
Scottish Government Nature Restoration fund: The Scottish Government Nature Restoration fund has been extended to enable funding for multi year projects. This fund aims to help Scotland’s nature recover and thrive. There are two streams of funding available. Helping Nature, for grants of £25,000 to £250,000 and Transforming Nature for grants of £250,000 upwards. Open for expressions of interest.
Scottish Forestry Community Fund: Grants of up to £1,000 or over £1,000 are available to support community groups and organisations that encourage people to use woods more. Applications are accepted at any time.
SEAD Fund from Scottish Education And Action For Development: Provides small grants of £250 to help community groups and individuals run or kick start campaigns and activities that promote social justice. Applications are accepted at any time.
Highlands and Islands Enterprise Green Grant Fund: Grants of up to £250,000 are available to support businesses and social enterprises across the Highlands and Islands to transition to net zero. Open to expressions of interest.
Inverclyde Windfarm Fund: Grants of up to £2,000 are available for community groups and voluntary organisations in Inverclyde to progress projects within their communities. Applications are accepted at any time.
Cycling UK: Cycle Access Fund: Offers grants through five funding strands to support those least likely to have access to a bike. The fund aims to remove barriers to cycling, make communities safer and reduce short car journeys. Organisations with a registered address in SPT, Sestran, ZetTrans or Nestrans regions can apply.
