Funding available from Climate Action Hubs
Fife Climate Hub Adaptation Grant: Offers grants of between £2,500 and £20,000 to support practical initiatives that help Fife communities respond to climate change. Deadline: 13th September 2026.
Fife Climate Hub Seed & Development Grant: Offers grants of up to £2,500 to help organisations expand successful climate projects, develop climate action plans, build volunteer capacity or invest in equipment and infrastructure that will increase their community impact. Deadline: 27th September 2026.
East Lothian Climate Hub Climate and Nature Action Grants: Grants of up to £10,000 are available to East Lothian community groups to help them deliver action for climate and nature. Community groups must be a member of ELCAN to be eligible to apply. Applications are accepted at any time.
Highlands and Islands Breaking Barriers Fund: Offers funding of up to £1,000 to community organisations in Shetland, Orkney and the Highlands who have hit an unexpected financial challenge with their climate project and need money to continue. Applications for 2026/27 are currently open.
NESCAN Hub Seed Fund: Small grants of up to £500 are available for non-profit community organisations in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to support them with setting up climate action and biodiversity projects. Applications for 2026/27 are currently open.
NESCAN Hub Leaf Fund: Provides funds to support Aberdeen communities to take positive action in the places they live, with a focus on climate change and nature recovery. Applications for 2026/27 are currently open.
General Funding
Learning Through Making Fund: Offers grants of up to £25,000 to eligible UK visual arts organisations to support them to deliver projects that encourage making, material exploration and creative experimentation. Deadline: 11th September 2026.
Youth Climate Action Fund: Offers grants of up to £3,500 to support young people in Glasgow aged 15-24 to turn their ideas into impactful climate projects. Deadline: 14th September 2026.
Matthew Good Foundation Grants for Good: Offers grants of between £2,000 and £5,000 to small and growing UK local charities, voluntary groups or social enterprises. Deadline: 15th September 2026.
Leith Chooses: Community organisations in Greater Leith can apply for up to £5,000 to support new projects that benefit local communities. Successful projects will be chosen through a community vote. Online and in-person support is available to help organisations develop their applications. Deadline: 12th October 2026.
The Wildlife Trusts Green Community Grants: Offers one year flexible funding of up to £25,000 to UK non profit organisations with an annual income between £10,000 and 1 million. Funding can support environmental related activities and priority is given to organisations that work with marginalised groups and in more deprived communities. Deadline: 21st October 2026.
CARES Community Buildings Fund: Grants of up to £80,000 are available to help community organisations reduce their building’s energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. They fund the installation of renewable technologies and energy efficiency measures. Deadline: 31st October 2026.
International Tree Foundation UK Community Tree Planting Programme: Grants are available for UK community organisations to deliver tree planting projects that protect and restore indigenous trees and woodlands, support community engagement and increase awareness of the importance of trees. Deadline: 11th December 2026.
Ongoing funds/rolling deadlines
Sea-Changers Scottish Learning Fund: Provides small grants of up to £750 to enable early-stage and/or small community groups in Scotland that focus on marine conservation to learn, share knowledge, network and develop skills with other groups. Applications are accepted at any time.
Aviva Communities Fund: Organisations can receive up to £25,000 in match funding. The fund supports projects that focus on climate action or financial wellbeing. Applications are accepted at any time.
Volunteering Matters Action Earth grants: Offers grants of up to £250 to support volunteer-led projects that promote participation in outdoor nature activities. Volunteers working in an urban or built-up area of Scotland are eligible to apply. Applications are accepted at any time.
The Chestnut Fund: Offers grants to support grassroots community groups and initiatives wanting to deliver practical volunteering that improves the natural environment. Start up grants of £200 and support grants of £500 are available. Applications are accepted at any time.
National Lottery Community Fund – Small Eco Awards: Offers grants of between £300 and £20,000 to help fund UK community-led climate projects that help people connect with and care for nature, make a positive difference to the environment or tackle pollution in communities. Applications are accepted at any time.
Tesco Fruit and Veg Grants: Schools, charities and non profit organisations supporting children can apply for up to £1,500 to improve access to fruit, veg and healthy food and snacks. Applications are accepted at any time.
Neighbourhood Eco System Fund: Non profit community organisations in Scotland with an income of less than £200,000 can apply for up to £13,500 to fund local nature restoration projects. Applications are accepted at any time.
The National Lottery Climate Action Fund – Food Systems: Offers £2.5 million to £7 million of funding to organisations working in partnership on projects that create fairer, more sustainable food systems. Applications are accepted at any time.
Energy Redress Scheme: Offers funding to charities and community organisations working to tackle fuel poverty, reduce carbon emissions and support a fair transition to net zero. Funding rounds throughout the year.
