Funding available from Climate Action Hubs
FCCAN Soup Grant: FCCAN members can pitch their ideas at the FCCAN soup event and local people will vote on the ideas they’d like to see funded. The winners will receive funding of up to £750. Idea registration form deadline: 9th August 2026.
Angus Climate Hub Change for Good Fund: Offers grants of up to £2,500 to projects in Angus that help support community resilience and create lasting local change. Deadline: 14th August 2026.
Highlands and Islands Climate Action Fund: Small funding pot of £1,000 is available to community groups in the Highlands and Islands. The fund’s purpose is to help kickstart a climate action project in your community or carry out community engagement around climate change. Deadline: 31st August 2026.
Fife Climate Hub Adaptation Grant: Offers grants of between £2,500 and £20,000 to support practical initiatives that help Fife communities respond to climate change. Deadline: 13th September 2026.
Fife Climate Hub Seed & Development Grant: Offers grants of up to £2,500 to help organisations expand successful climate projects, develop climate action plans, build volunteer capacity or invest in equipment and infrastructure that will increase their community impact. Deadline: 27th September 2026.
Lanarkshire Climate Hub Circular Life Skills Grant: Offers grants of up to £1,000 to support community groups and organisations to deliver projects that equip people with skills for the circular economy. Applications are accepted at any time.
East Lothian Climate Hub Climate and Nature Action Grants: Grants of up to £10,000 are available to East Lothian community groups to help them deliver action for climate and nature. Community groups must be a member of ELCAN to be eligible to apply. Applications are accepted at any time.
Highlands and Islands Breaking Barriers Fund: Offers funding of up to £1,000 to community organisations in Shetland, Orkney and the Highlands who have hit an unexpected financial challenge with their climate project and need money to continue. Applications for 2026/27 are currently open.
NESCAN Hub Seed Fund: Small grants of up to £500 are available for non-profit community organisations in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to support them with setting up climate action and biodiversity projects. Applications for 2026/27 are currently open.
NESCAN Hub Leaf Fund: Provides funds to support Aberdeen communities to take positive action in the places they live, with a focus on climate change and nature recovery. Applications for 2026/27 are currently open.
General Funding
Third Sector Locality Networks (Year 5): Awards £10,000 to each locality in South Lanarkshire to support the costs of leading and delivering the year 5 Locality Network events. Deadline: 10th August 2026.
Royal Company of Merchants Community Grants Fund: Offers grants of up to £5,000 to charities and community organisations across Edinburgh and the Lothians to support projects making a positive impact in areas such as the environment, health, culture and the arts. Deadline: 14th August 2026.
Warburtons Community Grants: Offers grants of up to £400 to UK charities and community groups to support them to deliver projects for families that focus on health, place and skills development. Deadline: 17th August 2026.
Edinburgh Community Solar Co-Op Community Fund: Community groups, charities, schools and leisure centres in Edinburgh can apply for grants to support projects that reduce carbon emissions, tackle fuel poverty or deliver sustainability education and community activities. Deadline 21st August 2026.
STFC Public Engagement Grant Scheme: The Science and Technology Facilities Council is inviting applications for projects that engage the public with STFC-supported science and technology. Grants of £5,000-£20,000 are available, with STFC funding 100% of the full economic cost. Deadline: 25th August 2026.
Safe Deposits Scotland – Community Fund: Awards grants of up to £5,000 to organisations who commit to deliver a project in any of the following areas: sustainability and the environment, employability and career skills, social inclusion, technology and digital inclusion and improving the local community. Deadline: 28th August 2026.
Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund: Funding of up to £50,000 is available to support local grassroots green projects from third sector organisations and community groups in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray. Deadline: 31st August 2026.
Enterprise Nation Sustainability Grants: Offers grants of £5,000 to five small businesses to help them invest in sustainability improvements that reduce energy use and cut carbon emissions. Deadline: 31st August 2026.
International Touring and Environmental Responsibility Programme: Offers 15 places for Scottish performing arts professionals, companies, venues and organisations to attend a training programme designed to help develop new, environmentally responsible approaches to international touring and collaboration. There is also an invite to apply for funding. Deadline: 1st September 2026.
Learning Through Making Fund: Offers grants of up to £25,000 to eligible UK visual arts organisations to support them to deliver projects that encourage making, material exploration and creative experimentation. Deadline: 11th September 2026.
CARES Community Buildings Fund: Grants of up to £80,000 are available to help community organisations reduce their building’s energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions. They fund the installation of renewable technologies and energy efficiency measures. Deadline: 31st October 2026.
International Tree Foundation UK Community Tree Planting Programme: Grants are available for UK community organisations to deliver tree planting projects that protect and restore indigenous trees and woodlands, support community engagement and increase awareness of the importance of trees. Deadline: 11th December 2026.
Ongoing funds/rolling deadlines
The Pebble Trust: Offers grants of up to £10,000 to support projects that meet their charitable objectives of community development, environmental protection and education and science. They also must contribute to reducing our dependency on fossil fuels and finite resources. Applications are accepted at any time.
Sea-Changers Scottish Learning Fund: Provides small grants of up to £750 to enable early-stage and/or small community groups in Scotland that focus on marine conservation to learn, share knowledge, network and develop skills with other groups. Applications are accepted at any time.
Aviva Communities Fund: Organisations can receive up to £25,000 in match funding. The fund supports projects that focus on climate action or financial wellbeing. Applications are accepted at any time.
Volunteering Matters Action Earth grants: Offers grants of up to £250 to support volunteer-led projects that promote participation in outdoor nature activities. Volunteers working in an urban or built-up area of Scotland are eligible to apply. Applications are accepted at any time.
I Dig Trees – Community Tree Packs: The Conservation Volunteers are offering free community tree packs to encourage more native tree planting in communities.
The Chestnut Fund: Offers grants to support grassroots community groups and initiatives wanting to deliver practical volunteering that improves the natural environment. Start up grants of £200 and support grants of £500 are available. Applications are accepted at any time.
National Lottery Community Fund – Small Eco Awards: Offers grants of between £300 and £20,000 to help fund community-led climate projects that help people connect with and care for nature, make a positive difference to the environment or tackle pollution in communities. Applications are accepted at any time.
Tesco Fruit and Veg Grants: Schools, charities and non profit organisations supporting children can apply for up to £1,500 to improve access to fruit, veg and healthy food and snacks. Applications are accepted at any time.
Neighbourhood Eco System Fund: Non profit community organisations in Scotland with an income of less than £200,000 can apply for up to £13,500 to fund local nature restoration projects. Applications are accepted at any time.
